Devon Air Ambulance - Weekly Lottery Draw Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions are the rules of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust Lottery. By agreeing to join the lottery, the entrant playing is bound to these rules. Devon Air Ambulance reserves the right to cancel any subscription if the player rejects any part of the following rules:

Devon Air Ambulance is committed to ensuring that the weekly draw is operated in a secure, fair and socially responsible way and to endorsing responsible gambling amongst its members.

DAA Lottery is registered with the Gambling Commission under certificate number 000-0005032-N-308657-001. Responsible Person: David Hawes. The responsible person is not eligible to play the ‘Devon Air Ambulance Weekly Lottery’.

The Lottery is a weekly subscription draw organised and run by the Devon Air Ambulance. Each chance costs £1 per week and upon receipt of payment, you will be issued with a unique membership/lucky number.

Members will begin upon receipt of the first payment. All payments are collected a week in advance. There is a limit of 20 entries per member per week. Each entry costs £1. Members are responsible for keeping DAAT up to date with any change of personal details (address, name changes).

Devon Air Ambulance have a responsibility to protect children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.

It is an offence for anyone under the age of 18 to be sold membership to any lottery.

  • Under gambling regulations, we are directed not to sell to anyone under the age of 18 and are unable to pay out a prize to any player under the age of 18.
  • Players of the Devon Air Ambulance lottery must be 18 years old and over, there is no age limit. Please note Facebook rules will only allow DAAT to promote the lottery to 18+ years.
  • Entrants must reside in the United Kingdom to play the lottery. (defined as England, Scotland and Wales and associated islands).
  • Any entry purchased by a person who cannot later produce proof of age (Photo ID, Driving Licence, Passport) shall forfeit any allocated prize and all monies will be returned to the trust.
  • Entries may only be purchased for and on behalf of other persons or transferred to another person.
  • Devon Air Ambulance reserves the right to cancel/refuse entry to anyone who we feel should be excluded from entering the lottery (please see below self-exclusion)
  • Members must report to the Trust if anyone feels they should be or have been excluded from the lottery.
  • Members should inform the Lottery Office of any disputes on 01392 466666 (Option 3) or alternatively email [email protected]
  • Trustees and Promoters of the Devon Air Ambulance are not eligible to play the lottery.

Devon Air Ambulance will ensure that players have access to clear information on matters such as the rules of the weekly lottery, the prizes that are available and the chances of winning are equal to all participants. The rules are fair. Any advertising and promotional material is clear and not misleading. The results are made public.

  • The weekly draw takes place every Friday at the office of Devon Air Ambulance
  • A computerized random number generator is used for the Draw.
  • On each draw date there is a selection of thirteen cash prizes.
  • All prizes are set, there is no alternative.
  • The first entry drawn will receive £1350 and the second and third will receive £135 each, then ten further prizes of £50.00.
  • Prizes are tax free.
  • The winning numbers are published on our website on a weekly basis and in the Plymouth Sunday Independent.
  • Winners do not need to make a claim. Our lottery team will call all winners to confirm bank details. Winnings will be sent within 7-10 working days via BACS transfer. Winners uncomfortable giving out bank details over the phone, we will arrange for a cheque to be sent by 1st class post.

Devon Air Ambulance accepts no responsibility for the Trust failing to notify the holders of the winning numbers or for the winners failing to provide adequate evidence of identification, age, and residency to the satisfaction of the Trust.

Whilst every effort will be made by the Trust to put a stop order on cheques which go astray in the post, are lost or are stolen, the Trust cannot accept responsibility for the same.

Prizes not claimed or not paid out within 90 days of the draw taking place will be cancelled and the prize retained by Devon Air Ambulance as a donation.

Devon Air Ambulance cannot be held responsible if winners do not notify DAA of any change of addresses, phone numbers, the responsibility to keep Devon Air Ambulance up to date of personal information is of the members.

The Trust reserves the right to change the prize structure from time to time and without notice. The Trust has sole discretion in allocating the prizes and calculating the prize draw fund; the decision of the Trustees on any matter, is final.

Prize winners agree to participate in promotional campaigns and features on prize winner posters, unless otherwise stated by the members application form.

Cancellation of Subscription and Refunds

Subscribers of the lottery can cancel at any time. Please inform the Charity by ringing 01392 466666 Option 3 or email [email protected] or in writing to: DAA Lottery, 5 Sandpiper Court, Harrington Lane, Exeter EX4 8NS

It is the responsibility of the member to cancel the standing order or Direct Debit with the bank if they wish to cancel their subscription. The Charity does not have the authority to amend or cancel a standing order but can with a Direct Debit payment.

Upon cancellation, any outstanding balances below £1 will be deemed a donation to Devon Air Ambulance, not before 60 days has elapsed from the last payment. You may still claim this amount to be refunded to you during this time, and this does not affect your statutory rights.

If the Charity is notified of a subscriber’s death, any refund requested from unused subscriptions will only be payable to the deceased subscriber’s estate. Supporting documentation may be required. If any next of kin would like to continue the subscription any unused monies will pass on with the subscription.

The Charity cannot accept liability for loss/ theft or delays for: Any payments/ forms/ communications sent by post or email or for any delay in payments through the banking system.

The Charity does not sell any details it holds on to its subscribers to any third party.Data that is collected is used solely by the Charity.

A member has the right to ask the Charity not to process personal data for marketing purposes.

The Data Protection Act gives members the right to access information held about them.

Devon Air Ambulance aims to ensure that any issue regarding the Lottery that you may have is dealt with promptly, efficiently and in confidence.

Last year, a fantastic £2.4million of the ticket sales in our lottery, 80% was used to fund the work of the Charity. 4% was spent on prizes and 16% was spent on other expenses including administration and marketing.

The exact likelihood of winning a prize in the lottery is dependent on the actual number of participants and will therefore change each draw. We estimate that the chance of a single ticket winning any prize in the weekly draw is roughly 1 in 3460.

The lottery is subject to the laws of England and the jurisdiction of the English courts.

All profits from the Devon Air Ambulance lottery are used to fund the charity’s live saving work.

Devon Air Ambulance reserves the right to make changes to these rules and will publish any changes 28 days in advance on the Devon Air Ambulance website, as required by law.
